PUBLIC NOTICE                                                                 05 March 2025

Limpopo Province; Polokwane: Limpopo Government, Polokwane Municipality and South African Football Association (SAFA), as partners are ready and indeed upbeat about the upcoming spectacular game between South Africa and Lesotho when they battle it out for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification. South African lads, Bafana Bafana, as they are affectionately known, will not want to disappoint the people of Limpopo, who will have come in droves to the stadium to face Moshweshwe’s lads on the 21st of March 2025 at the new Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The Government of Limpopo and Polokwane Municipality in partnership with SAFA are calling for soccer lovers and the public in general to fill up the new Peter Mokaba stadium for this spectacle. The Premier, Dr. Phophi Ramathuba, on the 10th of February 2025 officially launched this momentous occasion to the media at the new Peter Mokaba Stadium.

“We are confident that our team, Bafana Bafana, will do well to make a cut into the final stage of the world tournament. South Africa finds itself in Group C alongside Rwanda, Benin, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, and Lesotho, and every match is critical in the race to qualification. It is important that the people of Limpopo come in their numbers to the stadium to support our team to become the 12th player in the pitch” said Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Sport, Arts and Culture, Mr. Jerry Maseko.

Various streams have been set up to deal with logistical arrangements in all facets of the event. The marketing and communication stream will have activations where they will interact with the members of the public to encourage them to come to the stadium in their numbers to support Stathe team.
